Brussels pushes ‘No-Sex Law’ under the name of consent

This morning in the FEMM Committee, I raised serious concerns about the proposed EU consent law. Far from bringing clarity, it risks creating confusion, undermining justice, and eroding fundamental rights.

« With the definition that we have now here, actually, any man engaging in sexual relations with a woman could be brought to justice, and the presumption of innocence is non-existent. »

« The possibility of claiming that the woman has actually been in agreement is almost impossible. »

« Since this document is referring in several places to the equality between women and men, it should be taken into account that men also can be victims of rape. »
