I am committed to influencing public discourse on cultural values. Strengthening the presence of Luxembourgish in official functions and public life is a key aspect of national cohesion.
A central pillar of our national identity is the Luxembourgish language. I am concerned that Luxembourgish is under threat from the dominance of other languages, particularly French and German. I fully support policies that would require greater use of Luxembourgish in government documents and local media, fostering a stronger national identity and a sense of belonging among Luxembourgish citizens. Luxembourgish is a vital aspect of our national cohesion and a means of preserving our distinct culture.
My work is focused on defending economic stability, national sovereignty, and the credibility of our shared EU borders.
In my role as a Member of the European Parliament, I speak out against policies that threaten Luxembourg’s interests. Creating better conditions for stakeholders by reducing the number of excessive regulatory measures is a key factor in our competitiveness and survival. Policies that promote a healthy business climate are crucial for attracting investors and creating more jobs. The future of the European single market and our shared economic area also depends largely on the credibility of our borders. A new strategy is needed for our competitiveness.
As a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), I actively participate in shaping EU policy on industry and energy.
I firmly believe in a strategic balance between energy independence and diplomatic relations within the EU framework. As a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, I deal with issues such as critical raw materials, EU energy security, and economic autonomy. Self-determination, freedom of expression and vigilance against bureaucratic excesses are my main political priorities.
In addition to my political duties, I actively contribute to the debate on international security and Europe’s role in global diplomacy.
Europe should consider alternatives to the current sanctions against Russia, as they harm the European economy without having the intended impact on Russia. My broader vision for Europe includes a return to cooperative and stable international relations, as well as a reduction in dependency on external fossil fuel imports.
