I recently took part as a speaker in a panel discussion on “Russia and the world after transformation – New strategies” at the Moscow Economic Forum 2026.

In my intervention, I shared my perspective as a Member of the European Parliament from a small Member State, raising a fundamental question: does the European Union actually have a strategy in its relations with Russia?

I also spoke about my efforts to restore dialogue with the Russian Duma, and why I believe that continuing confrontation, militarisation, and the current sanctions policy risk going against Europe’s own interests.
