From Finance to Families: An Inspiring Exchange with Conrado Giménez

I am very pleased to share this exchange with Conrado Giménez Agrela, founder and president of Fundación Madrina, a Spanish humanitarian organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable mothers, pregnant women, and children facing poverty, exclusion, or crisis.

After a successful career in science and finance, Conrado chose a very different path and founded this organisation 25 years ago. Since then, Fundación Madrina has developed a remarkable network of programmes providing concrete help — from food and housing to medical and psychological support, training, and social reintegration for families in need.

Every year, the foundation assists thousands of women and children in Spain and beyond, including in emergency situations.

In our conversation, Conrado shares his personal journey, explains the mission of Fundación Madrina, and speaks about the real impact of their work on the ground — the families they support, the challenges they face, and why supporting mothers is essential for the future of our societies.
