PODCAST. In this episode I introduce a new young colleague — Alonso Niembro Rojas.

Alonso is both Spanish and Mexican, a graduate in international law from the Sorbonne University in Paris, and he has just joined my team here in Brussels for five months.

What makes Alonso’s story remarkable is not only his background, but also his evolution.
He openly describes himself as having been “a very woke child” — a believer in global revolutions, feminist movements, and taxing the rich — before discovering the ideas and values that completely changed his worldview.

Today, he stands for faith, family, and freedom, and represents a growing part of Generation Z that is turning back toward tradition and meaning.

In this conversation, we talk about that journey — about what shaped his convictions, the influence of thinkers like Charlie Kirk, and what it means for a young conservative Catholic to work inside the European Parliament today.
